BOARD OF DIRECTORS
President/Co-Founder-
Karla Wolfinger
is one of the co-founders of the Community Benefit Tree and has served as President since 2004. Karla is also the founder of the Larry Wolfinger Charity Golf Outing in memory of her late husband, Lawrence Wolfinger.
Karla is currently retired after having been employed with White Clover Dairy (now know as Arla) since 1985 where she was a supervisor.
Karla has six children and eight grandchildren.
Vice President-
Thomas Theroux-
Thomas Theroux has joined the Community Benefit Tree Board and brings with him many years of past service to the community. Having served the Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus, Lions, American Legion, Chamber of Commerce and served as a parish Trustee and on committees at his church.
Tom knows what volunteerism means to the community, and honors all those who serve their fellow man. He feels that community is an extension of his family.
Mr. Theroux graduated from Premontre High School in 1969, following high school he served his country in the U.S. Army. Tom is married to Lillian Ann for 35 years and has two daughters, one son-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren.
Secretary-
Sheila Oakley
Sheila Oakley joins the Community Benefit Tree Board with an extensive business background as well as a very personal medical journey of her son that is inspiring to everyone who hears it.
Sheila graduated from Marian College in 2000 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Major: Business Management, Minor Operation Management. As well as she has certificate from Marine Park Technical College in Sales & Marketing.
With her experience, talents and her passion to give, Sheila is please to be a part of The Community Benefit Tree Board to provide awareness and support to individuals and their families at a difficult time of their life.
Sheila serves on the Religious Education Board at Good Shepherd Parish and teaches Sunday School and is an active parent at Chilton Area Catholic School. She also serves on the Portland Church and Cemetery Board as a treasurer. Her involvement in the community also gives great reward and awareness of what is needed in one's life.
Being a part of The Community Benefit Tree Board, Sheila feels she's not only providing a service to the board, but to the people who need it most. The patient, care-givers and their families.
Sheila resides in Chilton with her husband and two children.
Treasurer-
Paula Malueg
Paula Malueg joins the Community Benefit Tree board in the summer of 2009.
Paula is currently employed by Menasha Packaging Company. She has a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Lakeland College and has recently earned her CPA license.
Paula spends time volunteering for her church and her children's sports and school activities. In the past she has also volunteered her time as a Victim Crisis Responder (VCR). As a VCR she worked with area police departments to provide emotional support and resources to victims within the first few hours after a crisis.
In 1999 Paula's mother, Geraldine Bruecker was a recipient of the Larry Wolfinger Charity Golf Outing.
Paula has three children.
Denise Belongea-
has been with the Community Benefit Tree since 2004 and with the Larry Wolfinger Golf Outing since the beginning in 1992. Denise has serves on the board since 2004 and the Larry Wolfinger Charity Golf Outing committee since 1992.
Denise is currently employed by Heartland Business Systems. She has a degree as a Computer Operator from the Fox Valley Technical College of Appleton.
Denise has also volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher and on the United Way Committee at Anchor Foods.
Denise has two children.
Charles Butler
Charles L. Butler grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in May of 2000 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Legal Studies. He currently works for Chase Investment Services Corp as a Financial Advisor in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Shortly after graduation He moved to Dallas, Texas and began attending Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas. Serving faithfully for 7 years in various areas of the ministry, Charles felt the call of God to plant a church in the Fox Valley community. In June of 2007 he graduated from Covenant Training Institute's School of Ministry and a few months later moved back to Appleton and planted Covenant Church Fox Valley with his wife Stacy.
Charles joined the Community Benefit Tree to help families during one of the most difficult time in their lives. He recognized the tremendous impact the organization is having in the lives of those it helps and in the community. By being a part of the CBT board of directors he can help fulfill the mission and vision of the organization by helping more families as that vision grows.
Charles is married to Stacy Butler of Kimberly, Wisconsin. They have three beautiful children Joshua, Josiah and Hannah.
Heidi Frederickson
is one of the co-founders of the Community Benefit Tree and has served as Vice President and Executive Director since 2004. Heidi has been on the Larry Wolfinger Charity Golf committee since 1992 in memory of her late father, Lawrence Wolfinger.
Heidi is currently employed by Wolfinger Water & Backhoe Service LLC as the office manager. She has completed various certificates and continuing education in her related field.
Heidi has a Promotional and Management Certification from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and has graduated from the Academy of Travel LTD in Milwaukee.
Heidi has served 3 years on the school board at Appleton Christian School. She has/have been involved in the Ambassador's, Education and Business Development committees at the Heart of the Valley Chamber, as well as soccer coach, Sunday school teacher, and Girl Scout leader.
Heidi is married and has three children.
Julie Thorpe
Julie is currently employed by Humana. She has a Bachelor Degree in English with minors in Organizational Communication and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Julie has spent several years volunteering. She served on the board of directors for Kinder Haus Day Care. She was a fund raiser coordinator for her church, as welll as served on many committees at church. She has also been very involved in the parent committees at her children's school over the years.
In 2009 Julie was the C.O.S. coordinator for a family member in need. The event was a great success! While planning the event for her family member, Julie appreciated the support of the Community Benefit Tree. She joined the board so she can help bring new corporate sponsors to the Community Benefit Tree. By gaining new sponsors and benefit partners, CBT will be able to expand the mission of helping more families in more communities in North Wisconsin and beyond.
Julie is married, between her and her husband, they have 5 children.
