WHO WE ARE
The Community Benefit Tree, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that assists individuals and their families within the community during their medical crisis through education, support, resources and financial assistance through individual benefits (A.K.A.- Celebration of Support).
MISSION:
Helping people at a time when they need it the most.
VISION:
The vision of the Community Benefit Tree (CBT) is to effectively steward families and individuals through medical crisis situations nationwide. CBT does this by encouraging full, balanced responsiblities and educational knowledge in every major area of a medical crisis including finances, health and spiritual well being. This enables individuals and families to more effectively cope during a medical crisis.
Statement of Faith
The Lord calls us to help the sick, the lost and hungry and to be a reflection of His compassion. CBT reflects the compassion of Jesus Christ and the HOPE that is in Him. Being a faith based organization CBT recognizes the direction of our organization is lead by our faith in God. That He is ultimately in control of our organization and will provide the financial means to go in the direction He leads us in.
Our History:
The Community Benefit Tree was established in 2004. The organization was started as a labor of love after hosting the Larry Wolfinger Charity Golf Outing for 12 years. In those 12 years the golf outing helped more than 20 families in the community that were struggling to meet financial needs because of an illness or injury. Heidi Frederickson (daughter of Larry Wolfinger) and Karla Wolfinger (wife of Larry Wolfinger) saw the increasing need in the community and were led by the grace of God to help out more families thus started the Community Benefit Tree.
CBT Serenity prayer:
God grants us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change. We know we can not change the situation our recipients are in, and we accept this limitation.
We have the courage to change the things we can...By God's grace we found a way to ease their burden. Through the kindness and generosity of friends, family and strangers, we are able to provide financial assistance to give some peace of mind to those who need their strength for healing and recovery.
And the wisdom to know the difference. Even though we would like to make all of our recipients well, we are grateful to be able to help in any way possible.
